“CERVO” TRAIL

Description: It is a circular trail which requires some physical fitness in order to cope with 350 m gradient. The main sightseeing attractions are a group of watermills in “Gávea”, the pond, the Stag (Cerveira’s emblematic symbol) and more remarkable still…. the amazing landscape with breathtaking views of Minho River’s estuary.

Approximate duration and distance: 3 hours, 9 km.

How to participate: Meeting point at the Castelinho Park.

ROCK ENGRAVINGS TRAIL AT THE GÓIOS MOUNTAIN

Description: It is a circular trail in a place marked by the existence of important traces laid out at the edges of the Góis Mountain, bearing witness to the presence of the ancient people as is the case of “Laje das Fogaças” at “Chã das Carvalheiras”. During the journey we will be able to get to know a little bit of this ancient culture through the engravings in the granite slabs scattered on the mountain, which have persisted through many centuries.

THE WATERMILLS OF “FOLÓN” AND “PICÓN” (Spain)

Description: It is a circular trail, and although it is quite easy, it is characterized by considerable height differences, which can, however, be easily overcome by following our guide’s advices. The first half consists of climbing to the top and the other half of going all the way down. The surrounding area is this of an overwhelming natural and scenic landscape. One passes along the set of 57 watermills (one of Europe’s biggest) that were being lodged into the hill’s slopes. These constructions were once very important for the region’s rural economy and today they represent a well preserved cultural heritage.

How to participate: Meeting point at the Castelinho Park, transport to the starting point (maximum of 8 persons).

INTERPRETATIVE TRAIL OF RIBEIRA DE COVAS

Description: That is a path within easy, ideal for the family. The track has held along the banks of the river Coura. Part of this goes a previously taken which led water from the dam to the old center, now in ruins. This section follows the steep bank and enjoys a scenic extraordinary.
